Santa Fe Scoop

(Adopted) 4 year old black male Labrador Retriever, Coal somehow ended up alone and wandering rural New Mexico. Someone found him, tended to some minor superficial injuries, and kept him safe for two weeks. All the while they kept in contact with animal control, believing his people must be looking for their wonderful dog. He’s strikingly handsome, friendly with both humans and other dogs, walks well on a leash… he’s just a good natured kinda guy. But sadly, as is often the case, nobody ever called looking for Coal… So when it became evident that he was simply discarded and forgotten, not lost, he was eventually turned over to animal control. Like every lab we’ve rescued before him, we looked into those beautiful Labrador eyes and knew we needed to help him find a special someone to give him the life he seemed to have been searching for when he was first found. Think only other people are heroes? Not true! Fosters are heroes and Coal just so happens to be in need of a loving, warm place to stay until we can match him with his forever home.

If you are interested in meeting Coal go to for information on the adoption process.
