(Adopted) This cheerful guy is looking for a place to unpack his bag and spend the holidays. He is 7 years old and his name is Walter, and aside from having a winning smile, Walter is said to be a kind soul with a good heart*. He tells us that he asked Santa for a very special home for Christmas so his paws are crossed that someone wonderful will find him just in time to hang up a stocking full of dog bones and tennis balls. Walter is a class A ham and has never met a person he didn’t like. He sits and shakes and he only knows how to be happy. He is a wiggler whose tail never stops wagging. To give you some idea, that picture above is Walter’s shelter picture and he doesn’t even seem to know he is having a bad day.
*A good heart, but not a healthy one. Walter was rescued from a high-kill shelter and his freedom ride chauffeur took him directly to the vet for a check up. We had hoped that he would be healthy and perfect, but, we are so sad to report that this sweet boy is heartworm positive. So he doesn’t just need any regular home- he needs a place to recuperate and regain his good health while he undergoes heartworm treatment. Heartworm recovery requires that the dogs be kept quiet and avoid strenuous activity. You don’t have to feel guilty for things like Netflix marathons, skipping your La Luz hike, and we approve of anything that involves Walter curling up next to you for hours on end. When you are sick of relaxing, Walter would love to take some nice leash walks around the neighborhood with you.
