What kind of pet do you have and what's his or her name?
Our family is blessed with Zach, an 6-year-old Shar-pei and Labrador mix. Beta, my 14-year-old Shar-pei-Dalmatian mix, died at the end of April 2008. Sister, aka Bear, was adopted from The Animal Support Center in Las Vegas, NM. Jimmy, aka James Bond, was rescued from Clovis. Our latest addition is from the Santa Fe shelter, Mimi, also a Shar-Pei mix. Our beloved Chihuahua, Olivia, died at the beginning to 2012. In May, we adopted Dolly, a Chihuahua-Jack Russel Terrier mix. She was among three puppies we bottle-feed to maturity after their poor mother died. We also have a houseful of birds, including Joaquin, a cockatiel, budgies, parrotlets and canaries.

Tales of Tails: The search for Xena: What to do when your dog is lost

By Hersch Wilson

Imagine: You’re walking your dog at the dog park, close to evening. Then, for reasons only your dog understands, she bolts. Gone. In less than a minute. You call her, nothing.

Frantic, you begin searching in circles. But then the sun goes down and you’re alone in the dark.

What do you do…

Hi, Ben. In case you are the one responsible for posting the AP article on GPS for pets, I want to thank you so very much for doing so. Using tracking devices for our pets has been a cause of mine for years. The products are becoming more advanced and affordable. Great to see more info on these fabulous systems to help people find their lost animals.

With appreciation,

Shari

Hi Ben,
It was fun to finally meet you at Barkin Ball. What a great event. I saw one other person wearing my Dogs Rock tee shirt! Could you give a Woof Out to all doggy owners in Santa Fe...our new Flea at the Santa Fe Downs (off 1-25 and 599) IS DOGGY FRIENDLY! They can even see Hula on the big "The FLEA" sign I painted that can be seen from the highway. It's a great destination to share with a doggy...and they should come see the best doggy tee shirts (for adults!) in the Big Tent aisle 1 ! we are there through Thanksgiving, Sat/Sun 9-3. Woof Y'all.

Hi Ben. Then I moved from the Midwest to West Virginia and tracked you down. I may have to drop in, since I have family there in Santa Fe.
