Listening To Raven at Audubon Opening Night party

Ben, thanks for the column in in Sunday's paper!

Everyone's invited to the opening from 5-7 pm July 9 at the Audubon Center at the top of Upper Canyon RD. The show runs through August 9th.

Listening To Raven ~ Drawings, Myths & Realities is an ongoing exploration of science and spirit. These detailed story drawings, created with pen and pencil, heart and mind, are a vision quest expanded by paying attention to small moments.

Is that an egg in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

There's a new raven lurking in the lavender. How do I know? He's bigger and more cautious than my regulars,who swoop in to check a few times a day to see if I've put out uncooked chicken eggs.

The newbie, watching to see if the egg is really available, is stalking amidst the sweet-scented purple flowers, flying up to land on the creviced rock fountain, then back to the bushes.

Raven stories

The stories we tell, either visually or verbally, really do make a difference. I come on this site, Ben's great gift to the community, and am so touched by the stories I see. When I began the Listening To Raven series of drawings, I had no idea that people would bring me such personal stories.
