Happy to be a hermit

Profile Information

What kind of pet do you have and what's his or her name?
Tigger & Ginger the dogs. (We all miss my SweetPea girl, lost a few years earlier than I expected to cancer). Murphy Goat. Nova, QH/Arab cross. Added summer of 2012: Sharif, a rescue pony, probably Arabian.

And forever aching from the passing of my beloved goat Isaac.

Always been a country girl at heart, and now I'm becoming a hermit to boot!

I moved to "the country" south of Santa Fe in November of 2006, specifically so that I could have happier dogs and maybe a horse again. Well, my dogs are definitely happy, and I was briefly blessed with the most amazing goat that my daughter named Isaac. Isaac brought many people together, with his charm, shenanigans, and because of his indomitable spirit. Many of his videos and tributes can be seen on Isaac's YouTube page (here). Isaac's life is now being honored in ways we never could have imagined. Very cool!

Since then, two new little rascals have joined me and the dogs, Tony and Murphy (goats). They are becoming quite popular in the local parades.

November, 2009: I think I found the horse of my dreams. Nova, a Quarter Horse/Arab cross. Rescue. Yearling filly. She is a charm and I'm falling in love with her. :-) AND, she loves the goats and the goats love her!

April, 2010: This month I lost Tony goat at a very young age, and my sweetest dog SweetPea, which breaks my heart. SweetPea was always the dog in the background, the dog that was so unobtrusive that many people didn't know she existed. But to me she sang every morning. I will miss her like crazy for a very long time. Here is SweetPea's memorial.

I've been so fortunate to share my space with many, many incredible critters through my years, each one bringing something unique to my life. I truly believe that when it's my turn to cross over, all those critters will be waiting for me, whinnying, barking, meowing, and now "bleating." I will be thrilled to hear each of their voices.

Nova is adorable. The wondrous love that horses bring is mythical.

I am so happy to have my two Arabians home with me. They are gaining their health back, having a good time with little Mio, an Appy, nickering with other horses and feeling part of the pack.

The owner was amazed, that over night my two Boys adjusted and fit right into the daily mode. I was not surprised. They are both so sweet.

KlassicAmir will be 18 this year and looking no more than ten years of age. Sir as hilarious and loving dolt, giving kisses to anyone who puckers up. How I survived this time without them confounds me. Now for the next surgery and back to riding and being with my boys as I continue my life's adventure and new projects.

HUGS to you Cindy, all the dogs and Nova and others, I can't keep up with you.

I truly believe in horse rescues.  I have several rescues of my own.  No matter how I reply I am going to get rebuked.  This has been a dream of mine since I was young.  I believe in following my dreams.  I don't think ill of any type of rescue.  I give up.

Hi! Thank you...she is a real sweatheart. We also have several dogs and goats (as pets-love them!) and it's how we ended up staying that we could give them a safe home. I really enjoy your photos..take care!
