Chablis: trip

The red backpack in the hall is mine! I hope Judith didn't forget to take some toys. We are getting away from the Santa Fe junipers.I am not sure what  junipers are, but maybe that's the reason I'm sneezing.I can't have any food before a plane trip, but I am so excited I am not the least bit hungry. In a few hours I will be putting my paws in the ocean. What a big adventure.   See More

Chablis: Missing Chutney

It is hard to wake-up in the morning and not find Chutney waiting for me. The house seems empty, but then I find some of her toys and feel better.Even though I am Judith's service dog, I share my love between her and Philippe. That's easy!Anyway, I am a very busy dog. I continue to be a "docent" at the Georgia O'Keeffe museum and also go to a lot of restaurants and movies. Although I weigh 57 pounds I can curl-up anywhere and make myself comfortable.Yesterday, I overheard Judith talking on the…See More

Chablis: Sad news

My dearest friend and companion for three years was put to sleep yesterday. Chutney was 13-and-a-half which may be a good age for a dog, but she was always a puppy to me: following me around, nuzzling, playing outside. But, we never stole each other's food!Judith, Philippe and I are very, very sad. Soon I hope we will only remember the good times. For now, we are happy that Chutney is not in pain and are sure she is  peacefully sleeping in dog heaven.See More

Chablis: It's been a long time

Chutney and I had a wonderful time at Christmas, but then Chutney got really sick and I worried so much. She is better, but at 13 and a half, Judith explained that she is very old. I don't care: we still love to nuzzle and have our private way of talking.Hasn't it been cold! At least I have a lot of fur to keep me warm.Even though it's a little late" Happy New Year".See More

Chablis: Cooking With Kids

I have had a busy week.Judith and I went twice to the Amy Biehl school and twice to Tesuque Elementary school to work in the Cooking with Kids program. Judith tells me that over 4,000 children from public schools learn how much fun it is to cook with healthy ingredients and taste new foods. What a super idea! Chablis: Fashion

I was wearing  my vest and we were ready to go. Then Judith noticed that she didn't have pockets in either her jacket or slacks.That, apparently, is the new fashion. Major problem! Where to put my treats.So, Judith put them in a little plastic sack, but said it was a nuisance because they kept dropping-out (I was very happy to pick them up!).Anyway, fashion is not a problem for me. Chablis: Going to the Lensic

A few weeks ago I went to the Lensic Theatre with Judith to see "Of Mice and Men". I got myself comfortable when Alex, who is a stage manager, came over and said to Judith that there would be a gun shot 57 minutes into the first act and another at the end of the second. We went to vote today and I wore a red,white and blue bandanna. I got a sticker for my vest that said "I voted today" which wasn't quite true. Judith says it's a nail-biter whatever that means!See More

Chablis: Vacation

Judith and Philippe went to Ireland so Chutney and I went to the ranch where we were born and spent the first two years of our life. It was really fun to be with Jill and the twenty other puppies and dogs. We played, ate and slept together. Chablis: Working

One of the biggest jobs I have is accompanying Judith to the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum where she is a docent. It is kind-of my second home. Everyone knows me and I visit the wonderful people at the front desk, the nice ladies in the Shop and the Security Guards who all seem happy to see me. It is fun to meet so many visitors, but what I love most is the children. They ask to pat me and Judith asks them to count how many colors are in my coat. Then to find something pink. Chablis: Summer experiences

I went to Zona del Sol's summer camp where Judith read her latest book in a series about Chloe, a little girl in a wheelchair and Nito, her wonderful assistance dog. "Nito and Chloe Love Carrots" is all about eating healthy foods and the pictures by Sue Blackburn are really cute. Judith and Philippe say these are the "dog days of summer". One of those human statements I just don't understand. Another one: "it's raining cats and dogs". I kind-of like shopping. Judith says I am easier to take along than Philippe. We went into a store and there was a dog that looked just like me. I sat down and the other dog sat down. Chablis: trip

The red backpack in the hall is mine! I hope Judith didn't forget to take some toys. We are getting away from the Santa Fe junipers.

I can't have any food before a plane trip, but I am so excited I am not the least bit hungry. In a few hours I will be putting my paws in the ocean. What a big adventure.

Chablis: Sad news

Judith, Philippe and I are very, very sad. Soon I hope we will only remember the good times. For now, we are happy that Chutney is not in pain and are sure she is  peacefully sleeping in dog heaven.
