A Kitchen Full of Kittens

Missing Black Cat

I received this notice through FreeCycle just now. I called the cat's owner who said he'd appreciate my posting it on Scoop.

"Our cat went out for the first time in a while and has not returned after 2 days, so we are worried she has gotten lost.

She is a black longhaired cat that is about 8-9 years old and responds to the name Jezebel. She is very skiddish, especially with sudden movements or deep voices. She has a few shorter patches of hair on her sides as… Continue

Making A Difference - A true story about following your instincts and doing the right thing!

I woke up to the ringing phone; my elderly neighbors needed help. I rushed over groggy, in my jeans and pajama top, just as they were moving a large trunk away from the garage wall. There, between the framing, we were stunned to see a single, squirming mass of newborn kittens, squealing for a meal.

I fostered cats before, and share my home with four cats and three dogs. Everyone knows I would never turn my back on an animal in need. So, I wasn't surprised that they had called… Continue

Linda, You have taken alot on ... I admire your energy & compassion for animals that are hurt as well. It's true that Rembrandt loves living up here where he can run free. When we stay over in the city, he sulks until we get back home. Thanks for your kind interest.

Indeed, Linda. Rembrandt is so very sweet & gentle-- except when he is in the car and other dogs chase our car. Then, it's like I'm living with Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde, for he proceeds to bark at the dogs. On Monday, I took him to the vet to get his shots and realized how old he's getting compared to all of the puppies we saw. But then, neither Rembrandt, nor I, are youngsters anymore!

Your kitty is cute. Is it a male or female? What's its name?

Thank you, Linda. Rembrandt is a sweet dog who has blessed my life in so many ways. Some years ago he appeared at my door-step; a forelorn little pup, lost, hungry & alone. After a number of unsuccessful attempts to find his owner; for I didn't really want a pet; I adopted him ... and, now I can't imagine life without him!
