What kind of pet do you have and what's his or her name?
Thanks for your timely response! I left this box blank because I currently do not have any pets due to my business responsiblities and my extensive travel schedule. However, since I was a littel girl, I've had a deep love for animals and grew up with two German Shepards and a cocker spaniel. Also, I and more than a few members of my immediate family are avid animal rights enthusiasts and supporters. I'd love to share your blog with them, as well as many of my friends/clients. Thanks for your consideration.

cool Renata... and just because I think you might be interested... here's a link to my website.... pls click the links at the bottom of the main page to see some of my cast glass sculpture .... most of the pieces on my website are meant to be meditative reminders on how short life is... (I'm a geologist by training and tend to think in terms of geo time)... the sculptures are my interpretation of the next phase of life. Best to you... ps... in answer to your question in the card... I have been to MI, many years ago... Detroit. If you are ever in Santa Fe pls let me know and I will show you around! It is a lovely town... and quite unique.
Hi Renata... Just a note to say that your lovely gift arrived last week... two copies of Grant Me My Final Wish and I have to say your book is even more beautiful than I had seen on amazon.
I love the quotes (especially the one about dogs!) and the simply beautiful format of the book which I can tell was lovingly put together. The quotes throughout the book are so beautiful and fitting... and make the book a joy to use.
I honestly can say this is JUST the type of thing I have been looking for to put all of my mom's wishes in one place... we have already talked about some things, like where she would like to be buried and her service... but I have forgotten a lot of the details... so this will be a great place to put everything. It's kind of a gentle journal that covers all parts of our lives to accompany a will...
And, re what started this conversationn on scoop, I LOVE the beautiful section for our pets...
The whole book is very thorough and helps to track details that we may have not thought about... I can see where your experience of your father's death in your youth caused you to see a need for this type of book.
My cousin (different one than I mentioned before) is a lay minister in Houston who travels around to several churches... and I'm going to send him a copy... I think any pastor could really find this book useful in helping people prepare for the next step in life.
And... one final thing... I was looking for this information to help my mother, but I'm keeping a book for me... cus honestly it is something I think all of us should have... sort of like having a will... but dealing with all the details of our lives in case we should pass unexpectedly... it is reassuring to know we have thought this stuff through... and told someone about it so they can find the book and take it from there.
Truly, thanks for writing such a wonderful book...
Hi again Renata... thanks for your generous offer of your book, Grant Me My Final Wish, for my mom and me... very much appreciated! Altho I ordered one for myself to review before ordering one for mom, I can use them... one for mom and one for my cousin who is also starting to deal with end of life issues with her folks... so thank you very much.
It seems to me your book fills an important niche in dealing with issues regarding end of life... there are the pragmatic books like How We Die or Dying Well that get to the physical "nuts and bolts", but I was really happy to find out about your kind of journal approach... (which I could see on amazon by scrolling through the table of contents and sample pages...) and it is done so beautifully.
Thanks again... I really think this type of book can be a gentle way to deal with the somewhat messy issues of "what happens to my life, and especially my pets, when I am gone."
And, just as an fyi, I thought you might enjoy seeing some of my sculpture... where I use cast glass to present what I call "spirit beings"... they are my interpretations of the next realm of life beyond this physical plane.... www.carolnicola.com fyi.
Welcome to Scoop, Renata...sorry you had to jump through a few hoops to become a member. Poor Ben is having to screen every single person wanting to be a member because last weekend we had a tremendous amount of scammers blocking up the front page with stupid and inappropriate (for this site)Viagra ads!
