Last week I wrote about the ASPCA Forensics Team being sent to collect evidence in an animal cruelty case at the Memphis Animal Shelter. The investigation began after a local resident took pictures of starving and abused cats and dogs at the city-...

while I think any event that will benefit animals is a good thing, I find it interesting that the SF shelter with it's multi-million dollar budget always is the recipient of more money when other shelters like Espanola struggle with so much less. ...

apathy in Santa Fe

Well the dog holding program at the SF Farmers market is doing well with few problems. The biggest problem continues to be finding volunteers that can represent the different rescue and animal non profits. Another problem has potentially cropped up. The dog holding volunteers are covered by the Farmers Market insurance, but local vets, with one notable exception, regularly decline to give back to the community in any fashion.. The Market has requested that we have a vet of record. The latest non… Continue

Dog Holding at the Farmers Market

Dog holding has been highly successful to the point I really need the other animal non-profits to step up and participate. I cannot do this alone and may not be able to continue much longer. This is very popular with dog owners and the vendors. The Farmers Market goes outside in a week and that means both ends of the building need coverage. While dogs for adoption are not allowed, that would not preclude photo sheets with information. One volunteer could take the entire shift or just 2 hours and… Continue

Public Hearing affects access to dog park and eventually the park.

April 2, per the notice posted on the fence at the Frank Ortiz kids park is the day for a hearing that will affect our access to the dog park. Our city wants to turn the traffic circle on Camino de la Crucitas into a cul de sac, ending our access except via 599 and Buckman Rd. The plan is a prelude to developing 3 tracks that over look and are adjacent to the dog park. If and when they build eventually the complaints will come in about the dogs, the smell, noise, traffic and lights. When this ha… Continue

Hi Susan,

Thanks for your answer. No, I am not looking to sell them at all, I gave you the $50 figure as a way to say how big they are. I saw them that size at Petsmart and that was the price.

My pond is only 50 gallons and freezes solid by January, I have not found any way to keep it unfrozen.

Thanks for your sugestions.

Hi Susan!
I just read your profile about your 18 koi. Does this mean you have a garden pond? I have 4 rather large gold fish looking for a home. 2 are fan tails and the size they are, if purchased, would probably cost $50 each at this point, another one is one of those black ones with the big eyes and the fourth one was a TINY 15 cent feeder fish 5 years ago and is now rather large, about 9 inches long. They live in my tiny pond and every winter I need to bring them inside so they won't freeze out there. I would LOVE to find them a permanent home. They are getting rather large to bring inside in an aquarium. However, they are very special to me, I have had some of them over 7 years. So I need a serious and caring new home for them. Please let me know if you might be interested.

You sound like Terry, maybe you are Terry. Totally delusional. There was no running water, crap everywhere, little food, dogs that been on a diet from hell. They are all severely malnutritioned, many with additional health issues brought on my their extremely poor conditions. Parvo was rampant. 13 out of 15 puppies died from parvo. Had they had the fabulous conditions you have described they never would have been taken, however the conditions were monitored for several days by the state/Donna Anna County before we went in. The vet on sight said he had never seen so many dogs in such poor living conditions or in such poor shape. They all are very experienced in hoarding and once in, it was even worse than was originally thought. 6 organs.. right....check out your anatomy before you believe everything you hear. Terry NEVER let anyone, including you, unless you are Terry and you sound like her, on sight and we the have the photo proof of the conditions that you call so wonderful. She also had no resources and her dogs were not feed anything but kibble when she could get it...and the last several 40 lb bags I bought and sent out there. Rotten teeth, broken bones not repaired, imbedded chicken wire, open sores, several cancers, mostly malignant. Good bloodlines, not in this world. Inbred is the word for today. She could not have controlled the breeding in the conditions she was living in. And there were 8-10 lactating bitches. Maybe those puppies also died of parvo, or got eaten by the pack/"tribe" or maybe they were squirreled away so live out their lives in that crap. She was a breeder/hoarder period. Most states treat these people with stiff penalties, including NO dogs. There was a time when it was about the money and I have emails from her over the past five years to document that as well. Only when she got desperate did she cut them at low cost to people who did not know any better. And her poor husband just burned out from all the dogs, all the filth, and all the lost savings and income which supported her obsession. She was a well known problem breeder, known by all real affie people, good and bad.. And the birds were actually in worse living condition. Keep on dreaming Terry.

hey loser....enjoying you new found loser abilitys?obviously you have nothing better to do then to slander Ms. terry..i am the proud owner of two of her wonderful babies.i have first hand knowedge that you forget to mention,,,on how her affies were never(unless in heat) kenneled, they had the best life that i doubt you could give them..and they had a VERY large affie play yard w/ constant clean running water, ate grain chow, meat veggies ect..so you must have been excited when she had 6 organs removed from her body and a loser husband who screwed her.all you snots that think only rich people should own them,Ms terry mad it possible to be a proud owner at a low cost,so she was never about the money like you and others who charge thousands!!!Ms terrys afghans had awesome bloodlines and wonderful dis positions.any of you bitches will know her affies were made for people like me to own and nurture these wonderful affies.your day will come... GOD has a place for you...i have first hand knowledge of how clean her house was before she became sick and how happy her affies were.
