Quite honestly, I work here about 50 hours a week....Most of the time I am totally EXHAUSTED. Plus I have 3 animals of my own and a house to take care of....oh....and a HUSBAND!!! LOL Maybe one day when I am retired, I'll volunteer :)

You are the first person to write me about Cleo !
She has quite a story........I got her when she was 4 weeks old.....truly a pup. When she was 6 months old she was hit by a car. Her back was fractured in 2 places, along with her pelvic bone, both legs, hips and her tail. She has 2 metal rods in each hind leg. She was in a full body cast for 6 weeks and unable to walk for 3 months. This is when I lived in the Eastern Sierra mountain range of California. I put a futon down in the living room and spent the next three months with her there. When she was starting to walk but still having problems with holding her poop, some friend build a 8x8 pen in the living room just in front of my bed. Another friend gave me use of his Jacuzzi for Cleo to use for rehab once her stitches had all healed. Then another friend......aren't friends Great !! gave me a Tens machine which is a device that gives out electrical impulses to stimulate the muscle and reduce pain and I used it on her legs and hips twice a day every day for 3 months....
To make a very long story a bit shorter, she learned to walk and run again albeit a bit wobbley and she loved to swim ! She had trouble stopping and turning which made it very funny to watch. She can no longer walk without help....I have a wonderful harness that I use. She is still full of piss and vinegar, still wants to go to the park and sniff the other dogs and does well with the dogs that I board here in my
home. Hope that you enjoyed her story and soon I am going to upload some more pictures of her.

Actually, my husband was the one who found that clip on CNN last night, it made me cry as well and I could tell it upset him deeply too. It's just unbelievable how many ignorant people are out there!
