No problem - I've just left you a voice mail with my phone number. Give me a call and we'll make arrangements for me to get the monitor to you.

Thanks for the support to both Ben and Shari. I agree that a humane trap may be the answer. We are borrowing one from a neighbor and will try that out. Shari -- would it be possible to borrow your baby monitor for a couple of weeks?

I have recently moved to Santa Fe and have been impressed with the genuine love the city has for animals. I have worked with children and adults in the past -- helping them to write stories about things that are meaningful to them. Recently, along...

He just bolted out the door. He was last seen on Sunlit Drive West. I have been looking for Squeaker as well, you never know with cats sometimes they show up in strange places. There are people that keep animals they find as their pets. Keep me po...

I know it is so distressing to lose a savannah. How did he get out? I will also contact you if anyone calls with relevant news regarding my cat that might apply to yours. Where is Sunlit Hills -- what area?

My Savannah

Almost 10 months ago I lost a beautiful Savannah cat when he bolted out our door and ran out into the night. I have no doubt that he loved us as owners and I have no doubt that he also loves the wild. Savannahs -- and many cats I have learned -- have amazing natural coping skills even with coyotes, cold and rain as their daily companions.

Recently -- after 10 months -- I have begun to get reports of "my cat". Callers have seen him near Aldea, in the Las Campanas area and one woman has had him b… Continue

Savannah Cat

I lost a beautiful Savannah cat last November. People have told me to give up hope, but I have a strong feeling that my cat is still out there, alive and active. He has a tan back coat and dark spots. He has a distinctive black nose and big ears. He is a very good hunter and has excellent survival skills. He was lost in the Las Campanas area, but Savannahs have been know to travel far and to somehow find a way back home after months and even years.

If you have seen a cat like this one or have h… Continue

I tried taking my cats out on a leash,it was an unsuccessful endevour. They both got spooked. I have been curious about other people's experiences with Savannahs, they are a newer breed and not too common. I hope that somehow we can get our adventurous little cats back home where they belong. Ricochet has been missing for almost a year, he is fixed and chiped. I have been told to give up on him, but my gut tells me otherwise. So hopefully he willl somehow come back. I hope that Squeaker returns as well.

I will keep you in my prayers as well. Savannah cats are not for everyone. I have had the experience with the wild genes through an F3 Bengal. I was aware of that tendency in the hybrid cat. She used to go on what I call walk about every spring for weeks at a time. She would always return and now that she is almost 9 she does not do that. How many Savannahs do you have?? We got ours in Colorado Springs and I really do not want to tell the breeder that he escaped, she will be heart broken. Ricochet was one of a litter of 9 and he had a tough start. He was a very healthy cat with a lot of curiosity about the out side world that he could see.

Thank you. I have been out on the look for Squeaker. That is how I heard about you, a friend kept telling me about a lost Savannah and that I should look at your posters. So I did. How old is Squeaker? Ricochet will be 2 in July and he is an F4. Just a little info on him that will help in finding him. I have Ricochets litter mate, so I have a vague idea of what he might be like now.

He got out in a rain storm, he just bolted out the door. That was last July. He was spotted in October on my neighbor's portal roof. I just figured I would let you know that he is probably close, somewhere on your property. Ricochet fits the description of his name. I have not given up. You should not give up on Squeeker, you never know with hybrids. Squeeker looks like a great cat and I hope that you find him. Savannahs are great pets and it is pretty common for them to go on "walk about" when they get out. It is in their nature to become feral quickly and adjust to the life on the outside.
