Today someone called here while I was out posting flyers and vising the Human assn etc and she told Mike that she had a found a lisitng for a dog that looked like Jackson and was actually named Jackson, in Colorado. She said it was on Petfinder.com ,but I can't figure out how to access it.
Any ideas? Terri

My two Yorkies were stolen from my yard on Calle Margarita on Friday, July 17th. There names are Corky (male) and Cozy (female). At the time they were stolen they were due for a hair cut so they may be scruffy looking. Corky has asthma so he wheezes sometimes. Their tan colored kennel was also taken so they may be in that. They were taken once before by a hispanic male approx 5'5" tall. Please, please… Continue

For the past year in New Mexico, I 've been making intricate raven drawings and writing stories to accompany them . My new series, Listening To Raven,
has inspired people who never before looked at birds with much curiosity to now bring me stories the way a cat sets a mouse at its owner's feet. Their recognition of life heretofore unexamined develops a personal… Continue

I have been so sick with this, I don't even know where to start.
Moose has been living with his foster parents, their dog and cat and everybody really hit it off! Yippee, and it seemed he had found a new home with a friend even! They told me of their intentions then a day later.... he pooped in the house (an almost unheard of event) then the same day.... he chased down the Fedex driver and bit his shirt( thankfully just the shirt), then chased the cat. A day later he went for the cat… Continue

Silka is a tiny white dog weighing 10 lbs. She was lost in the Hickox area by St. Anne's Church. She ran away without her collar when a storm came in and scared her. Please call 501-3258 if you find her or see her. She is very friendly and loving with a curly tail and floppy ears that stand up like Yoda when she hears her name or gets a treat. Please tell all of your friends!

Well, it's Sunday evening now and the cat came back! What a relief!
Boy is my face red...Marmalade was just hiding out somewhere in the house and finally made an appearance after a verrrrrrrry long nap (like 9 hours!). Just like a kid who falls asleep in the closet and the parents call the police to help them find their child! Yes, the charming Mr. Marmalade strolled into the kitchen, purring and stretching and yawning. No doubt he'll be up all night wanting to play!
As I… Continue

Our cat Marmalade is lost!
He is a large (12 pound), orange and white, long-haired male cat, about a year old. He's wearing a green collar with rabies tag: V09-005290 and has a microchip in his ear.
He was last seen Sunday, July 26th about 10AM near Governor Miles Road and Richard's Avenue.
We thought he was simply hiding in the house, but now it is clear he must have slipped out the door when my spouse went outdoors this… Continue

Here's an inspiring story for those with lost pets. The dog was lost in El Paso in January and was found in Ohio last week. I know most dogs aren't microchipped. Even for those that aren't there may be some comfort a "kind" stranger passing through came across the dog and took that dog in and doesn't have the technology or for whatever reason feels the dog is a stray and doesn' t feel the need to find out if the dog is being looked for back… Continue

2 year old Mystery, a Australian/German Shepherd mix (really?) captured my heart and imagination. She is so sweet, outgoing, affectionate, with a fur you will want to bury your nose in. Mystery is just gorgeous and has been at the shelter already 2 weeks. Amazing that nobody has claimed her yet. While we all loved her we had to admit she would have been… Continue

that 3 lots along the edge of the dog park down towards Alameda have defaulted and gone back to the City. The city supposedly is trying to sell those lots again and the concern is about assured continued access on these commonly used trails that lead up to the dog park. It may well behoove the community to keep an eye on this issue and prevent new owners from disregarding a law that safe keeps commonly used trails for the public. Isn't it great not to have to use a car to go walk the dogs!

Well the dog holding program at the SF Farmers market is doing well with few problems. The biggest problem continues to be finding volunteers that can represent the different rescue and animal non profits. Another problem has potentially cropped up. The dog holding volunteers are covered by the Farmers Market insurance, but local vets, with one notable exception, regularly decline to give back to the community in any fashion.. The Market has requested that we have a vet of record. The latest… Continue

How do you say goodbye to a dear friend? Striker, our grandson of Seattle Slew, will be laid to rest tomorrow. His knee, damaged during a very successful racing career, is now beyond repair. I can't let the beautiful boy go on in pain. He will be laid to rest under the apple tree in our pasture, his favorite place to rest in the shade on a hot day.
Striker came to us a very angry horse and is now the biggest sweetie. If he could curl up… Continue

So much has been written about Kermit and the miraculous story of his recovery and recent adoption.
So many people took part in a joint effort to make good what had been done to him, this wonderful dog, who was apparently purposely starved. From the police officer who found him, to Ben Swan who jumped on the story and made it public and kept us all up to date, to everyone at the shelter who cared for him, cooked for him, bought… Continue

For those who might wish to help in someway and be there for animals in need, check out the EARS (Emergency Animal Rescue Services) from United Animal Nations
They train you to help animals in crisis in many emergency situations, and you can help other volunteers work with the Humane Societies, and such rescue from puppy mills, etc. Currently they are helping the North Texas Humane Society with the 500 dogs rescued from a puppy mill.… Continue
