Moe and Rocky are safe!

It may sound hard to believe, but Rocky and Moe are back in the loving care of Espanola Valley Humane Society. The thieves apparently realized that the puppies were well-known after a great deal of media coverage on their theft, so they gave them away to two separate parties at an Espanola park last night. Both of the people who took in the puppies saw news coverage offering a reward for their return and brought them in to the shelter this afternoon.… Continue

Need a new webmaster!

All Ears Basset Sanctuary needs a new webmaster or mistress to keep our website up to date and to add new features as we find we need them.

I am pretty much illiterate on web design and maintenance, but I can offer guidance about what the website should do.

So - if you know of anyone please get in touch with me!

This petition is closed but there's some background information here:… Continue

Vigil Against Breed Specific Legislation in Santa Fe.

A candlelight vigil against breed-specific legislation was held at last night at Atalaya Park in Santa Fe.

Randi Gerzofsky-Bildner, my friend and fellow advocate, said the event was meant to coincide with a massive vigil in London. In England, many canine breeds, including pit bulls, are banned outright.

Breed-specific legislation is a blanket term for laws that regulate or ban certain breeds in communities. While there is no evidence that banning specific breeds is effective, many… Continue
