An emergency call to all feline friends! Because of recent developments among community cat colonies in Santa Fe, local animal welfare groups, including the Santa Fe Animal Shelter, desperately need foster homes for kittens and adult cats, many of whom are unsocialized.

If you can find a place in your…

Loving Saint Bernard needs a home

Bernie, an 8-year-old Saint Bernard, has lived most of his life outside. His owners moved out of the area quickly and couldn’t take him with them, so they dropped him off at the Santa Fe Animal Shelter. He’s getting lots of love and care at the Shelter, but needs a forever home. Bernie would do best at…

SEEN @ N. DeVargas Mall, late Thurs night - TWO DIFFERENT CATS: one mostly black; one w/white & black all over in a cow-like pattern!  I posted them in Craigslist "lost & found".  Couldn't get photos, but got a good look.  Wish I had seen Sweetie!

SWEETIE Kitty Seen Saturday Night @ DeVargas Mall

SWEETIE Kitty was SEEN and positively IDENTIFIED at the ***DeVargas Mall**, on the Paseo de Peralta side (Santa Fe Bar & Grille, Ross, Atrisco's Restaurant, etc.).  She was in the bushes ON the MALL property, and was seen deciding NOT to cross the street into the huge arroyo.  I spent over an hour calling…

Desperate for Foster Homes!

We are desperate for foster homes!  Though we had a GREAT adoption weekend both Sat/Sun at two events we have "incoming"!!!  There are two little dogs we would like to pull from Artesia; a Pug/mix female and a 10-year old Chi male.  We also received three dogs from a small town in TX w/o proper animal control a cattle dog mom w/two 6-mo old pups.  The mom is a wonderful dog, the pups need a little work to become more socialized but they are friendly, approachable, if a little shy.  The three… Continue

Pet Parade - Dog Park Representatives

The annual Pet Parade is scheduled to start Saturday 9.10. at 9 AM. Thinking of this really fun event, it seems that we ought to have a representation of our Frank Ortiz dog park walk along to show our community that dog park regulars (four and two legged ones) are well socialized and sweet and not the wild beasts some like to believe! What would it take to make this happen? Anyone interested? Too late?

Help! Lost Dog at Ortiz Park, 9/5!

My 10-year old wheaton terrier, Henry, ran off today during our walk at Ortiz Park. He was last seen at 11:30am. We have looked all over the neighborhoods surrounding the park, but with no success. He was wearing his leather collar with tags...he is very friendly! Please, if you have any information, I can be reached at 512-947-6467. … Continue
