Found (stray?) horse near La Cienega - Santa Fe River

I came across this horse today. She's on BLM land near La Cienega on the Santa Fe River. There are wild horses out there, but she was so friendly and by herself I don't think she's wild. She came running up to me like she was happy to see a human. I gave her an apple and she wanted to follow me. Anyone know of a missing horse? SCOOP Visitor Traffic SKYROCKETED! (up 70% (spread the word!))

On the last page of the Opinions section in the New Mexican today there was an advertisement listing the stand outs in online visitor traffic. SCOOP was one of the 3 mentioned with a 70% increase in web traffic (I think in the month of July). THANK YOU BEN! We love this website for sharing pet information and making connections. Thanks to the New Mexican for being pet friendly too.

Parade Magazine - vote on (NOT) banning pit bulls

Parade Magazine comes as an insert in the New Mexican. There was an article today on fatal dog attacks. It accused pit bulls of causing most of human dog attack fatalities. If any of you know Nina from the Espanola Valley Humane Society you have met her dog and Shelter mascot, Lil who is a pit bull and is the most gentle and friendly dog you will ever meet. Here's Santana from the Las Vegas Shelter...

If you know anyone looking to adopt a Shepherd/Lab mix please pass this on. Santana's days were numbered at the northern NM shelter. Too many animals, not enough room, not enough people wanting to adopt. Maureen put the call out, I agreed to foster her until we find her a home, and Dew Paws Rescue added her to their ranks.
