Santa Fe Scoop

After a sad day yesterday I am happy to announce that we have added a new member to our family. Last weekend we drove to Colorado to pick up Warbuck, aka Roman, a Thoroughbred stallion that I have loved for years. Thankfully his owner contacted me when she decided to get out of the breeding business and he is now mine! He has had much success in the show ring and his babies are following him! He is approved to breed to paints and thoroughbreds and I hope to have him approved for breeding to quarter horses soon! He is a big love and loves nothing more than to be the center of attention. Stay tuned for updates on this handsome boy!

Oh, we picked him up in Fountain, CO just south of Colorado Springs.

I have been around stud for many years. He is so easy to handle. Has never "live covered" a mare and never will. He has a gelding personality, which I love. I bred one of my mares to him years ago and unfortunately she didn't take. But I have been around his foals and they have the best personalities. He has shown successfully as a hunter-jumper and I hope to return him to that in the spring. He is a dream to be around and I really think that will never change.

This picture was taken yesterday when he met my mare Missy for the first time. They touched noses and she went away. Fickle girl, lol. He didn't react any more than my gelding did when he met her. It was nice.

Wow! From Buddy to Warbuck! He is quiet the LOOKER!! The picture looks as if they used Mink Oil on him; at least that is what I use to use for Klassic when in show. Hope you have had Standing Stud before - I only know a few brave woman who breed and keep a Standing Stud on their properties. I wish you luck -
Where in Colorado did you pick him up? My two guys are still in Elizabeth.
