STILL MISSING but another possible sighting Saturday, August 21

We are NOT giving up hope that Jager can still be found:
Saturday, August 21...
A hiker called us because of our flyers and reported seeing a black dog up by the towers:

Here is the sequence of events as reported by the hiker:

1. I spotted the black dog being chased by a collie at 1 pm today.

2. The black dog left the road heading west into the forest following the direction of my arrow on the map.

3. My observation point was about 100 yards south of the dot, near the top of the ski lift.

4. As the black dog entered the forest, the collie stop chasing the black dog and proceeded south right towards me.

5. As I was petting the collie, a young man emerged from the forest from the northeast.

6. I asked him if the black dog was his, he said "what black dog?" He further explained that only the collie was his and he has not seen any black dogs while on his hike.

7. I called my wife from the base of the ski area and asked her to contact you via craigslist. (I saw your flyer weighted with rocks, at 11,600 ft at about 11 am, at the far-NE portion of the ski area, unfortunately I did not tear-off one of the phone number tabs).

Looking for Jager - couldn't have found a more beautiful place to search.

We're still hopeful for some word on Jager. Claudia, Nina, Virginia, Lily, and I are still searching hoping for some sign. If you are up Hyde Park Road, up the Ski Basin, even hiking around north of Pecos (Holy Ghost, etc.) or near Tesuque, or the Dale Ball trails, he could be anywhere. PLEASE keep your eyes open for him. Thank you!

Virginia and Lily - thank you for going up there this week and looking. He is out there somewhere. The Ski Basin even has a webcam! You can change views, either looking up at the mountain, or down at the lifts but clicking on CONTROL and selecting the view in the pulldown to the left. Ok - so you probably won't spot him there, but at least you can see what the weather looks like.

Good info Virginia. I have Verizon and I had spotty service at the parking lot and on the ski hill. Even up at the towers the cell service was spotty. At the Overlook, as Virginia says, it was good.

Thanks for reminding everyone of that, Virginia, good thing there are more than one of us thinking about this situation. I drove down from the big parking lot at the top to this lookout point every 30 minutes on Sunday checking for voicemails....

For those searching for Jager that don't already know, there is cell phone service at the scenic overlook about a mile before you get to the ski basin parking lots. I think it's around mile marker 14, but you can't miss it - on the way up, it's on the left. Could save a time-consuming drive to call for help if anyone sights him, but haven't been able to catch him.

I know Lily, it is indeed heartbreaking to think he is up there WAITING.....

Bobbie and I took the Rio Medino Trail until it forked off..took the left fork to the top where we met up with the road..took a small trail off the road and came back up near Aspen Vista...then walked back to the top by way of the road. I just wanted to make sure that he wasn't hit by a car or something. I will do my very best to make some time to hit 150 tomorrow. I am heartbroken that if he is still in the vicinity of the towers that he is waiting for an owner that will never come.
