Thanks to the efforts of the folks-on-the ground in Clovis, the Animal Control agreed to let all the dogs (standing) as of Friday afternoon, stay in the kennels through Wed. morning before Thanksgiving. As no new dogs will be accepted next week they will not become over crowded. Any dog or cat that is not adopted out by Tuesday, close-of-business, will be put on the "truck" (van, car, whatever) to come into rescue on Wed. morning. Every single one.
Thank you to all the rescue organizations and private citizens who stepped-up to take these dogs and cats in. And, thank you for your flexibility and willingness to "take the next dog" if "your" dog gets adopted Monday or Tuesday! Transportation and pick up stations are still being worked on but we think the run will come all the way to Santa Fe with a stop or two along the way to drop off dogs.
For the private citizens, Dew Paws Rescue will help by raising money for vetting costs. Once we know what we have, we WILL ask for donation support for shots, spay, neuter and other medical as needed. Thank you all for the support and the "bites in the butt"! Both make us better at what we do for the next time.
