We almost thought Jager was found!

Thank you to everyone for still keeping an eye out for Jager, the 12 year old male black lab who was lost at the Ski Basin on August 7th. Animal Services/Control (not sure if it's city or county) picked up an old male black lab yesterday in a neighborhood between Hyde Park Rd and Bishop's Lodge Rd. Jager's owner came to Santa Fe this morning to check and confirmed it wasn't him. This other dog's owner did pick him up today so he's back home resting in his comfy bed.
I wanted to thank the Animal Shelter staff for their dedication and help. A group of us in town have continued the search for Jager and the Shelter called us yesterday to let us know he might have been picked up, as they have been watching for him too. We went to see him and took additional photos we sent to Jager's owner.

He's still out there, somewhere. Good or bad news, we could certainly use closure.

I am hoping, that Jager was picked up by a kind person and taken in, possibly to find a new home.

At least, I hope the better if he was never rejoined with his original home.

I have to be in Albuquerque the week of the 26th. If there are places on the other side of the basin where Jager was lost where signs have not been posted and/or people have not looked, let me know and I'll spend out there before I head back. Wouid be a good reason to get outside and do something useful at the same time. Let me know.

Julie, you have spent so much time hiking the ski basin endlessly....I am so awestruck by your dedication to find this particular dog.

When the call cames yesterday that an old lab had been picked up in a very plausible area my heart nearly jumped out of my chest with hope.

Yes, thank you to whoever was on staff at the intake building and called us immediately!

And thanks also to everyone else who is keeping Jager in their thoughts and hearts. He is certainly buried deep in mine.
