Dogs, cats and humans get similar cancers that respond to treatment in similar ways. Despite these similarities, however, veterinarians and physicians have traditionally worked separately to improve care for their patients. By breaking down that division, the comparative oncology movement is stepping up efforts to share knowledge between veterinarians and physicians--and beat the common enemy of cancer in people and pets together.
